This session offers attendees an overview of:

1.   Information on what is meant by "AI" and the future of the technology (10 min)

2.   Using AI for Teacher Chores (20 min)
  • Resources, ideas, and instructions on how to immediately use AI to enhance communication, grading, and planning, including time-saving GPT/BARD prompts for teachers and apps/add-ons to know and try
  • Ethical and privacy concerns with AI 
3. Student use of AI (20 min)
  • How to open discussion of AI with students, what to expect, how to promote ethical use of AI to promote their skillsets
  • The scope and limitations of current AI Detectors
  • Sample guidelines and policies for updating your Integrity Clause
  • Example lessons incorporating AI for various subjects/students (Differentiating and Translating)
This session will come with a Google Classroom code for easy access to the resources, links, and notes taken.

As always, we as teachers are preparing our students for life in a future that we don’t quite understand. Current developments in AI cannot be ignored any more than the internet could have been ignored in 1998.
